Warranties and Maintenance Contracts - Creating a Job or Estimate

This article is part of the Warranties and Maintenance Contracts section.
Once you have added all your dates, you can create a Job or an Estimate directly from the Warranties/Maintenance tab in the Development.

For example, a lift is due to be inspected every 6 months. You’ve set the next inspection date in your Other Dates field and you get an alert saying it’s due. When you view it you will be able to use the Create Job button to get your contractor to inspect without leaving the Warranties area to go to Jobs Maintenance.
- Navigate to the Development and open the warranty from the Warranties/Maintenance tab.
- Click the Other Dates icon to bring up the Dates for Contract screen.

- The Work Required box will be ticked on dates that require further action after a document has been linked in the In-Tray.

- Highlight the warranty date.
- To create an Estimate from the warranty date:
- Click the Create Estimate button.

- This will bring up the Estimate Request Wizard.
- Follow the steps in Estimates - Creating and Sending Requests
- You can view the Estimate linked to the warranty date by highlighting the date in the Dates for Contract screen and clicking the View Estimate button.

- To create a Job from the warranty date:
- Click the Create Job button.

- This will bring up the Stage 1: Create Job screen.
- Follow the steps in Jobs Maintenance - Creating a Job

If the Create Job button is greyed out, check the "Warranty Dates Allow Jobs Without InTray File" System Setting is enabled. If this is not switched on, you will only be able to create jobs for warranty dates that have had a file linked to them via the In-Tray.
- You can view the Job linked to the warranty date by highlighting the date in the Dates for Contract screen and clicking the View Job button.

- Once your Job has been completed, the Dates for Contract screen will update with the date and the Work Completed box will be ticked.
