Introduction

When you create a Blockworx company account you will automatically be the administrator for that account. If you would like other people in your company to access Blockworx, it is best practice for them to have their own accounts.

This article will guide you through the process of adding users to your Blockworx company account.

The individual user can sign up themselves or you can create them as a user which will generate an email to invite them to Blockworx.

Alert
If you do not yet have a Blockworx Company Account then please direct the appropriate person to consult the Signing Up for a Blockworx Company Account article.

You can only add users through your Blockworx Web Portal. You will need to be an administrator of your Blockworx Account to do this.

Accessing the User Account Details in Blockworx

  1. Click on the ADMIN link from the Blockworx header.
This will open the ADMIN screen.

    1. You will see there are Users and User Groups tabs available.

Inviting a New User by Sending an Invitation Email from Blockworx

Info
Please note the Users tab will only allow you to view existing users. New users are created from the User Groups  tab.
  1. Click on the User Groups tab inside the Admin area.

    1. User Groups can act as containers for different users and allow any new user created within a group to pick up the group's permissions.
By default Blockworx has two User Groups available which are Administrators and Users.

    2. If you want to create additional user groups before inviting users, then you can do that in this screen.
Info
You can find additional information here on creating and managing user groups.

  1. Click on the name of the group you want to add the new user to from the list on the left of the screen.

  2. The name of that group will appear on the right of the screen.

  3. On the right of the screen you will see there are three orange buttons.

    1. If you have already created users in this group then these users will also be listed underneath the orange buttons.
The Add Current Users button will enable you to add any of your existing users into the group you have selected.
The Permissions button will open a new window which will display the full permissions list in Blockworx with the ones for the Users Group already ticked.
InfoAccess the Permissions section in the Creating and Managing User Groups article for more information.
  1. Click on the Invite New Users button to invite a new user to sign up and have them added to your selected group.

    1. This will open the Invite New Users window.

  2. Add the email address of the new user or users you would like to invite into the Add Email box.

    1. You can invite multiple users at the same time by adding each of their email addresses into this box. Just make sure you type a semi-colon after each email address.

  3. Once you have typed the email address(es), click on the Add button in the right of the box.
This will move the email addresses to the Users to Email  box.

  4. Please note the Automatic Authorisation information. By default, the Auto Authorise box is ticked.

    1. This means that when the new user signs up as part of this Invite New User process, they will not need to go through the authorisation process because you are inviting them.

    2. They will however, still need to verify their email address as part of the security protocol.

    3. You can untick the Automatic Authorisation option if you wish, however, you would then have to return to this screen to authorise their user account after they had registered.

  5. Click on the Send Invitations button to send invitation emails out to the email addresses you have entered.

    1. Although your Blockworx Company Code appears on this screen, if you are inviting users as described above, you do not need to give them the code.

  6. Blockworx will ask you to confirm that you want to invite the users. Click on OK to confirm.

  7. You will see a confirmation banner appear on the screen to let you know that your invitations have been sent successfully.

    1. Click on OK to dismiss this message.

    2. Your colleagues will receive an email invitation from Blockworx to sign up for an account in your company portal.

Info
Please note that a person’s username will always be their email address.

Inviting a User To Sign Up by Giving Them Your Company Code

You can invite new users to sign up by giving them your Company Code which they can then input as part of the sign-up process on the Blockworx web portal.

Info
If you are a user who has been given the Blockworx Company Code, this article will take you through the steps to create your user account.

Your Company Code is also located in the Company Settings tab of the Admin area.

To locate your company code, follow these steps:
  1. Click on the ADMIN link in the Blockworx header.

  2. Click on the Company Settings tab.

    1. Your company code will be on the left at the top of this screen.

  3. Your company code is also listed in the Invite New Users screen which was mentioned in the section above.
Your colleague would then need to go to blockworx.co.uk/login and click on the Don't have an account? Click here to sign up! link to create their account by choosing the Connect me with my company account link.
As you have given them your company code, there is no need for you to approve their account.

Info
Any users who sign up in this way will have their account created in the default Users group. As mentioned above, if you wish to move them to a new group you have created, access the Creating and Managing User Groups article.
