You can create tasks individually or within a case or meeting. We'll call these individual tasks, case tasks and meeting tasks.
Creating Tasks
To create an individual task, go to the Scheduling menu, hover over My Tasks and select Create a task or click the plus sign on the right:
To create a case task, open the case and click Create New Task.
To create a meeting task, open the meeting and click Create Task.
After you start creating a task, follow these steps:
Add a Title for the task.
Enter a Description or select a standard one from CPL by clicking the book icon on the right:
Choose a Task Type. (For more details, see the Actions in CPL section below.)
Assign the task to a User or a User Group.
Select an SLA Type.
The start date and time are already filled in, but you can change them if needed.
Click Create Task to save.
You can't assign a client to tasks but you can include client details in the Description field.

Make sure you are signed in to CPLto complete the actions below.
Additional options will appear based on the Task Type you choose:
Set the Task Type to Job instruction to display the Create Job button after saving the task. Click it to open the Job Tab window in CPL and create a job:
Set the Task Type to Estimate Request to display the Create Estimate button after saving the task. Click it to open the Estimate Request Wizard window in CPL and create an estimate.
Set the Task Type to Proposed Work Creation to display the Create Proposed Work button after saving the task. Click it to open the Proposed Works window in CPL and create a proposed work.
After completing a job, estimate request or proposed work in CPL, the task will be automatically marked as Closed.
CPL windows won't automatically come to the front. Click the CPL icon on your taskbar to bring the window forward.
